While our service is focused on our community we also work to help Lions Club International in their international efforts to save sight and hearing as well as global understanding and peace.
Since 2002 we have given more than $56,000 in scholarships to high school seniors residing in Woodbury. In 2008 we awarded $8,500 and in 2009 we awarded $9,000 in scholarships.

In 1970 the Lions formed the Woodbury Ambulance Council and provided ambulances and equipment from 1970 through 1995. In 1995 we gifted to the city 4 fully equipped ambulances and $65,000 so that the city could have its own equipped emt/paramedic service. We continue to support and provide funding for specialized emt/paramedic equipment. |

The Southeast Area YMCA recently received a $5,000 donation to the annual Y Partners Campaign from the Woodbury Lions Club.
This years gift is a significant increase over last year and the largest gift received from a local business or service group. The Woodbury Lions Club is a local voluntary service organization, whose primary focus is to support youth and educational programs. |

The Y Partners campaign helps in providing financial assistance to people of all ages who otherwise could not afford YMCA memberships or programs. Funds raised through the Southeast Area YMCA stay in ther local community, to address critical needs on the local level.
